Cristiano Ronaldo's press conference following Portugal's victory lasted only 2 minutes and 12 seconds

Cristiano Ronaldo had an unusually short media conference following Portugal's 3-2 victory against Ghana on Thursday.

After establishing the scoring with a powerful penalty in the 2nd half, the 37-year-old created history by being the first men's player to score in 5 different World Cups.

Andre Ayew levelled things up for Ghana before Rafael Leao and Joao Felix finished off exquisite passes from Bruno Fernandes.

Osman Bukari scored late for Ghana and upset Ronaldo by doing the 'SIUU' celebration that the former Real Madrid star used when he scored his 8th World Cup goal.

FIFA awarded Cristiano Ronaldo Man of the Match, and he was hustled away for comment media engagements.

However, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who was fired by Manchester United, was there for only 2 minutes and 12 seconds.

Cristiano Ronaldo just took 2 questions before becoming ecstatic. [This is a time that makes me extremely proud,] was his sole memorable line. That chapter (United) has come to an end. I've come to win. The rest is irrelevant.]

Portuguese players had been tired of being asked about Cristiano and his explosive interview with Piers Morgan during recent press conferences.

As a result, the captain and all-time leading scorer held a surprise media conference in which he urged media to refrain from asking the same questions of his teammates.

Ronaldo, who is not a free agent, has been linked with a number of clubs, including David Beckham's MLS club Inter Miami, who have cooled their interest after Newcastle United and Chelsea distanced themselves.

According to Marca, the Portugal captain might be on his way to Saudi Arabia, where Al-Nassr is ready to offer him an outrageous £210 million deal for 2 seasons.

Ghana made Portugal problems and were equal in the 73rd minute when West Ham striker Andre Ayew and ex Swansea poked home.

Ilkay Gundogan, a Manchester City star had given his team the ahead in the 33rd minute after converting a penalty into score.

It happens just a day after Saudi Arabia stunned Argentina's Lionel Messi.

They defeated a World Cup favorite 2-1 and, like Japan, came from behind to clinch their Group C match.

Germany, who fell out of the World Cup 2018 in the group phase, has an uphill task to qualify for the knockout rounds after suffering a stunning setback in their first encounter.

"I felt we played well over long spells," Thomas Muller remarked after the game, "but in football, you have to turn supremacy into goals."

However, when you look at how we conceded goals, you can conclude it wasn't an undeserved loss.

He continued: We have to deal with this right now. It is never simple to accept defeat. But we must stay objective; the setback is simple to understand in football terms, but harder to accept emotionally. You will not win anything if you are not competent at football.

Germany returns to play on Sunday against Spain before facing Costa Rica the following Thursday.

Meanwhile, Japan will start their Qatar tour against Costa Rica on Sunday.
