Former Sporting Club Initiate Contact Regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's Transfer Following Links To Chelsea

Former Sporting Club Initiate Contact Regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's Transfer Following Links To Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo is the subject of a surprise move from Sporting and the Portuguese squad has got in touch in an effort to revive Ronaldo to the club.

After 13 years away, Ronaldo returned to Manchester United last summer, and he attempted to make an impression despite the team's miserable season.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, recorded 24 goals in his first season back with the Premier League team. However, due to their lack of success and the concerning delay in strengthening in the summer window, Ronaldo is apparently unhappy.

Sources a few days ago revealed that he is prepared to leave the club, and he has since been connected with both Chelsea and  Roma, with a meeting allegedly reportedly taking place between both the Blues' new owner and Jorge Mendes.

Sporting are ready to bring him back to the club he departed for Manchester in 2003 if he is permitted to quit Old Trafford.

Sporting understands that Ronaldo loves winning titles," a source said the Sun, adding that the club had already interacted with the 37-year-old.

That appears to be a long way off at United right now, and time is running out for Cristiano.

So what good strategy to end his career than to return home and play in Portugal?

It's a powerful league with a beautiful lifestyle.

Senior officials have made inquiries and informed Ronaldo that if he decides to quit United, they are eager.

United have undoubtedly appeared short of winning titles after Jose Mourinho, who desires the player at Roma, leaved the north west of England in December 2018.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's club did reach a lot of semi-finals, and the Europa League final in 2021, but they didn't look like they were going to win anything last season.

They ended 35 points behind victors Manchester City and were eliminated in the 4th round of the FA Cup, the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup, and the last Sixteen of the Champions League, with only single knockout game won.

United couldn't even take the 4th-place 'award,' finishing 13 points beyond 4th-placed Tottenham Hotspur, and Ronaldo was missed out on Champions League participation for the first time in a long time.

Sporting won the League Cup in Portugal and finished second, just 6 points below champions Benfica, and appear more likely to succeed more trophy than Erik ten Hag's squad right now.

That's not the first time his previous club has been connected with Ronaldo, as Real Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer was reportedly set to resume them in April 2021.

This is according to the player's mother, Dolores Aveiro, who stated, "I'm heading to Turin to talk with him. He will move to Alvalade next year if I can encourage him."

He would, sure, quit Turin, but for Manchester; perhaps it isn't just his mother who wishes she could have convinced him to return to Sporting...

Lionel Messi Breaks Cristiano Ronaldo's Replica Shirt Sales Record Following PSG Move

Lionel Messi Breaks Cristiano Ronaldo's Replica Shirt Sales Record Following PSG Move

Lionel Messi is used to breaking all kinds of records on the field, but he has now set a new record off the ground.

His presence to PSG club has driven shirt sales to an all-time high; for the first time, PSG sold more than 1,000,000 shirts last season. Messi's # 30 shirt contributed for more than 60% of all sales.

That incredible number is a first for any player in the sport, demonstrating his celebrity pull power in the stores once again.

Messi's long-term competitor Cristiano Ronaldo was moving ahead in shirt sales after a spectacular move to Manchester United last summer.

By September, Portuguese Star Ronaldo's replica shirt sales had earned United an eye-watering £187 million, however Messi's shirt sales grown steadily the rankings and ultimately surpassed the Portuguese.

Manchester Utd are also no longer the team with the most jersey sales, while PSG has now ranking top at the table.

Within hours of the news that Lionel Messi was quitting Barcelona for PSG, shirt sales earned about €1 million.

To meet the high demand, the French champs had to relocate their official outlet to Paris' famous shopper's paradise, the Champs-Elysees. They also increased their service zone in order to move quite so many shirts as feasible.

Marc Armstrong, Paris Saint-Germain's chief partnerships executive, told Marca, "Demand has risen by 30 - 40%, and the only thing that can slow it down is supply."

When a deal of this size occurs, such as [Cristiano] Ronaldo to [Manchester] United, you may imagine he'll be compensated by selling shirts, but that isn't the fact. You can't make many extra shirts.
The arrangement is designed to ensure extremely essential minimums, but we are unable to fulfill the demand for Messi shirts. " We've reached our threshold."

"No one can fulfill that demand," he continued. We are already selling a large number of shirts, possibly more than any other club in the world for a single player, and this drives us to the next stage."

We also have enough request for lifestyle products; the Jordan brand generates a lot of income, but the desire increases even more when you add a star player like Lionel Messi.
Aside from jersey sales, Armstrong stated that the team's social media following was increasing at a rate of £1.4 million each week. Ticket sales and request are also on the rise.

PSG believes it has produced £600 million in income since Messi joined the club.

Paul Merson Discloses Klopp's Best Liverpool Signing

Paul Merson Discloses Klopp's Best Liverpool Signing

Sky Sports analyst Paul Merson says Virgil Van Dijk is Jürgen Klopp's most important signing as Liverpool manager.

Merson defines Van Dijk as a "Rolls Royce of a defender" and a "unreal addition for the Reds" in an interview with SportsKeeda.

Prior announcing his belief that the £75 million signing that acquired Van Dijk from Southampton to Liverpool is Klopp's greatest piece of transfer dealings as Reds manager, he identified four other players who were in the race.

Andy Robertson is ranked 5th on Merson's list. The previous Arsenal midfielder applauds Liverpool scouts for discovering such a gem for only £8 million.

Sadio Mané, who recently left the club, is the fourth. Merson believes that people "take for granted" Mané's ability at Liverpool, and that "perhaps they'll understand his value when they begin the new season without him."

Mo Salah, Liverpool's superstar, is third. Many would argue that the Egyptian, who scored118 goals in 180 matches for the Reds, should be higher on this list. Salah is "truely unplayable at his best," according to Merson.

Alisson Becker is in 2nd spot, only behind Van Dijk. Merson lavishes praise on Alisson, claiming that his acquisition was "exactly as significant" as Van Dijk's.

The majority of the football community will regard the Sky pundit's ratings as largely correct.

Though Salah and Mané have been key to Liverpool's frenetic attacking play over the years, Van Dijk and Alisson have calmed the ship and improved Liverpool from a decent side to a strong one.

Van Dijk's ability to continue up where he left off prior to injury was critical for Liverpool last season.

He was a calming influence in the Liverpool side, and he became unstoppable under Jürgen Klopp.

The argument over centre-backs at Anfield generally focuses on Van Dijk's partner instead of the Dutchman himself.

Last term, Ibrahima Konaté adjusted well to Premier League life, however his position in the squad is far from sure.

Both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip will be competing for the French centre-spot back's upcoming season.

One thing is certain: if Van Dijk can stay injury free, he will be a regular for Liverpool.

Liverpool Interested Three More Forwards Prior To Egyptian Star Mohamed Salah

Liverpool Interested Three More Forwards Prior To Egyptian Star Mohamed Salah

Sadio Mane's exit from Liverpool marks the end of the historic Liverpool front trio that included the Mohamed Salah, Senegal star and Roberto Firmino, although it may never have came together in the first place.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in a move that might well go down as one of the greatest in Premier League history, given the Egyptian's achievements since returning to England.

His arrival enabled Jurgen Klopp to pair him alongside Mane and Firmino, and the trio has netted 245 league goals in their stay together.

They won the Champions League and the Premier League during their stay and are a big reason why Liverpool is one of the top teams in the world.

Mane's transfer to Bayern Munich, revealed on Wednesday, ends their era, but that would not have done if one of the club's 3 preferred targets had gone to Anfield prior the club looked to Salah.

Liverpool examined approximately 15 wide players between missing out on Mohamed Salah {when he was at Basel} and getting him," Times journalist Paul Joyce reported in 2017.

Klopp has said that it was Dave Fallows, the chief of scouting and recruitment, Michael Edwards, the sporting director, and Barry Hunter, the senior scout, whose background checks included spying operations at training sessions and while games, who continually pushed his case.

[He signed] just after Liverpool had considered other options. Borussia Dortmund declined to let Christian Pulisic move, Julian Draxler was sought last January 2017, but rather chose to join PSG from Wolfsburg, while Julian Brand elected to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, thinking he just wouldn't play consistently at Anfield."

Pulisic had joined Dortmund just like Klopp was departing the Bundesliga team, and he had been extensively linked with a transfer to Anfield at the moment of Salah's departure.

The American striker remained in Germany, and just Eighteen months later he decided to join Chelsea on loan, continuing at Dortmund till the summer of 2019.

Draxler joined PSG in January 2017, and events haven't done well for the German since then, with him not being first choice for the majority of his time in Paris.

Brandt was mainly worried for first-team football at the age of 21, and the winger obviously got enough of minutes at Bayer Leverkusen.

He's subsequently transferred to Dortmund and continued to grow, however he's certainly nowhere near Salah's goal-scoring prowess.

Following 6 years with the team, Mane's transfer to Bayern was met with a tearful goodbye from both the player and his now-former boss, Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp told the 30-year-old was as a 'modern day icon' at Anfield, and it might not be a stretch to say he's also become a hero for the red half of Merseyside.

They'd have been a considerably different squad without him, and much more so if Salah hadn't accompanied him.

Cristiano Ronaldo Is Looking To Leave Manchester United This Summer Following Erik Ten Hag Issue

Cristiano Ronaldo Is Looking To Leave Manchester United This Summer Following Erik Ten Hag Issue

Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to leave Manchester United following feeling left out of Erik ten Hag's plans for the club, according to recent sources.

According to La Repubblica, the 37-year-old player does not feel included in the strategy at Old Trafford under the Dutch boss.

This contradicts what Ten Hag has previously stated in public.

Manchester's manager recently stated that he "looks forward to working with Cristiano Ronaldo."

With questions about whether the No.7 fits the type of play that Ten Hag prefers, it's not out of the question that he'd want to work with a younger and more versatile striker.

Furthermore, the source adds that the absence of Champions League games at the Theatre of Dreams coming season has enhanced his chances of leaving the club this summer.

His advisor, Jorge Mendes, is already reported to be on the lookout for a new club for Cristiano.

Whispers of the forward's name have circulated around Jose Mourinho's AS Roma, particularly because the Italian club would've been able to benefit from tax breaks due to Ronaldo's tenure at Juventus.

However, according to the speculations, this destination is doubtful for the Portuguese as it involves a switch to another Europa League club.

During Last season, Cristiano Ronaldo recorded 23 goals and provided 3 assists, with 6 of those goals came in the Champions League, although United being eliminated in the round of 16 by Atletico Madrid.
His performances on his arrival to the Premier League earned him a spot in the Team of the Season as well as one of United's most coveted honours, the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season Award.

Even though it was anticipated that Cristiano would lead the Reds to a title race, his personal campaign was something to be delighted of.

If Erik ten Hag at the helm, it would seem unfair for Cristiano to exist the club without a campaign in which he has a genuine opportunity of bringing silverware to the Manchester United fans.
Liverpool and Man City have both added a couple of Europe's most intriguing young centre-forwards, Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland, to their squads.

With the rest of the striker market lacking in quality, United should preferably be aiming to extend Ronaldo's contract for another season.

Nevertheless, with Ten Hag engaging on a long-term project, if allegations about his disinterest for the 37-year-old in those plans are true, the club should respect that decision.

Erling Halaand Wears Three Distinct Brands Of Football Shoes Despite Not Having An Official Boot Sponsor

Erling Halaand Wears Three Distinct Brands Of Football Shoes Despite Not Having An Official Boot Sponsor

Erling Haaland has been wearing 3 distinct brands of football shoes in recent weeks despite not getting an official agreement with any of them.

Erling has been scoring goals with Nike Mercurials since emerged onto the scene and rapidly became one of the world's deadliest strikers.
Moreover, Haaland's big €1 million-per-year agreement with Nike terminated in January, so he has practically been a free agent since the beginning of the year.

Although no longer becoming a Nike athlete, the 21-year-old has decided to wear their shoes in club and national competitions.

Furthermore, Erling has been seen wearing Nike sneakers of Dunks and Air Max.

Simultaneously, the previous Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg player has been practising in Adidas X Speedflow shoes and sporting Adidas gear.

But it's not all. On Monday morning, Haaland's major switch to Manchester City was formally disclosed, and in the introductory video, he recreated a prior image of himself in a City shirt.
This time, he had been in City's spanking new Puma home, wore the German sportswear giants' footwear.

The sharp-eyed Footy Headlines captured that , Haaland was wearing Manchester City Puma Ultras boots.

However, the shoes were blacked out so that the logo was not overtly apparent.

It had recently been reported that Erling was the subject of a shoe bidding war between Puma and Adidas, with both companies willing to strike a long-term agreement for £50 million.

Goal announced in April that PUMA, who has a £650 million, 10 years contract to manufacture City's outfits, had been in pole position to land Haaland.

Haaland has signed a 5 years commitment with City, following in the footsteps of his dad, Alf-Inge.

He is believed to earn roughly £375,000 per week, with his team number yet unknown.

Manchester City Has Confirmed A Signing Of Erling Halaand With A Deal Of £64 Million

Manchester City Has Confirmed A Signing Of Erling Halaand With A Deal Of £64 Million

Manchester City have revealed that Erling Haaland will sign them in the summer after promising to pay the release clause of the Borussia Dortmund forward.

Erling had long been anticipated to depart Dortmund in the summer, with the £64 million contract expiring at the end of this season.

The Norwegian had been deeply connected with Real Madrid, PSG, and, of course, Manchester City, and the Premier League team has won the fight, if not by much.

It was claimed earlier this week that the Bundesliga club had given their superstar player some time off to finalise the transfer, and he is thought to have had his checkup on Monday.

Image: PA Images

The 21-year-old striker is thought to have agreed to a 5 years contract for £350,000 per week plus substantial bonuses.
In the aftermath of Sergio Aguero's exit, City were anxious to add a striker to their team last summer, but Pep Guardiola was only interested in Harry Kane.

They had won the league title instead of having the Argentine playing extensively, with Guardiola typically playing with a false nine owing to Aguero's lack of form and health.

However, they were unable to get the Tottenham Hotspur forward, rather spending a club record £100 million to recruit Aston Villa's Jack Grealish.

After failing to acquire Kane, the English champions set their sights to Haaland, however the Norwegian apparently preferred a move to Real.

The Spanish champions' efforts to get Kylian Mbappe may have finished their prospects of capturing the former Red Bull Salzburg forward, but the Frenchman may still be available.
Haaland's form since joining Dortmund has proven that he has had no trouble adjusting to life in the Bundesliga after transferring from Salzburg 2 and a half years earlier.

The Leeds-born player has 85 scores in 88 games for the German club, while his career total for all teams is 154 goals in 199 matches.

He's also made 15 goals in 13 European games for Dortmund, that's where City may truly need his scores if they continue to lose out on continental victory, and his cool hitting could have finished the tie versus Real Madrid in the first leg.

Alf-Inge Haaland, the player's father, played for City for 3 years, from 2000 to 2003, prior retiring due to a knee injury.
