FIFA 2022: The 10 Most Exciting Gameplay Changes in FIFA 22

The release of FIFA 22 is almost around the brink, and there have been a lot of significant changes and improvements made for this year's game.

Following some hands-on time with the game's beta version, as well as knowledge from people who worked on the latest instalment of EA Sports' football franchise, here are five of the most interesting upcoming gameplay updates.

Hyper-Motion technology:

For next-gen platforms, EA is utilising cutting-edge technologies to completely transform the game in FIFA 22. Players would previously have brought optical motion to the studio, but for the first time, the American gaming giant has utilised Xsens motion capture suits on 22 professional players in their natural environment.

Last week, EA released the trailer, which starred Trent Alexander-Arnold, Marcelo, and Eden Hazard all featured.

With over 8.7 million frames of improved match capture, the new technology introduces over 4,000 additional animations for defending, shooting, passing, and dribbling, resulting in smoother transitions and football behaviors.

The computer is programmed to duplicate exactly what we see on the pitch, making it more sensitive and fluid than ever before.

Tactical A.I:

Players and teams doing things that just don't make sense has been a criticism of A.I in the past, and EA has worked hard to address this.

They promise that the computer-controlled participants will gain more intelligence. Attackers can make up to six times more decisions per second than defenders, who move as a unit and progress up the pitch in lockstep while maintaining a strong structure.

In-depth stats:

Match statistics have been a fixture of FIFA games for years, but this time the data has stepped up a notch. With the usage of stats becoming increasingly common in recent games, FIFA 22 will incorporate heat maps and expected goals (XG) to highlight how well you've been playing.

Kinetic duels:

The animations in FIFA 22 will be more responsive and have cleaner results. Defenders and attackers will fight for possession of the ball with astonishing realism, especially in aerial battles.

Player Humanisation:

In FIFA 22, the virtual players engage at a previously unheard-of level. During matches, opponents will converse, dispute, and gesticulate in the same manner they do in real life in games all around the world.

The facial expressions of high-profile players will change depending on the score, and their tattoos will help them stand out even more.

New pre-match and post-match sequences:

Anthem jackets for players are one update we know is coming thanks to online leaks, but it's only one of many adjustments aimed at giving players a more immersive matchday experience.

Sprinklers, ground staff, player warm-ups, dressing rooms, and mascots have all been included, along with dynamic crowd behavior that sees your team's fans depart early if the players aren't doing well.

Pep Guardiola's emotional post-match celebration with his squad was also beautifully caught.

Rewrite for the goalkeeper:

On FIFA 22, goalkeepers have a whole new experience - and it's a fantastic one. With the implementation of a new mechanism, those between the sticks now have more individuality, and the diversity of saves has greatly improved.

Keepers are more dependable in their decision-making, thus getting past Manuel Neuer, Jan Oblak, and Ederson will be difficult.

Explosive sprint:

Speed demons like Kylian Mbappe and Kyle Walker will be even more lethal in FIFA 22 since acceleration will be more controlled.

Unlike just double-tapping the sprint button on your controller, explosive sprinting has a greater impact and is more noticeable in both attacking and defending scenarios.

This feature's timeliness, on the other hand, is important.

Composed ball control (control of the ball)

Logic and understanding have been added to the way players control the ball in FIFA 22. More aerial passes can be controlled thanks to the longer two-touch animation, and the game promises to be very, very rewarding.

True ball physics:

As a result of using real-world data, EA has created an entirely new level of realism in FIFA 22.

Speed, steering, air resistance, ground friction and rolling friction are some of the parameters that have been focused in detail.
