Cristiano Ronaldo Removed His Shirt After Scoring A Stunning 95th Minute Winner Against Villarreal

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a thrilling 95th-minute goal for Manchester United, completing a last-gasp Champions League victory over Villarreal.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was not being involved in the game generally, but ramped up in the dying moments to beat Geronimo Rulli at his near post after excellent work from Jesse Lingard in the box.

United lead 1-0 to the team who defeated them in the Europa League final previous season, with Paco Alcacer placing Unai Emery's team up early in the 2nd half.

But Alex Telles equalised with an incredible effort before Cristiano came up clutch again, scoring a fifth goal in his second tenure and on his record-breaking 178th Champions League game.

After scoring with what was essentially the game's final kick, Ronaldo removed his jersey and was surrounded by his teammates in wild celebrations in front of the Stretford End.

Ronaldo's exploits came 12 years after his last Champions League game in United red, and they occurred on the same night he surpassed Iker Casillas' Champions League performance record.

Ronaldo has scored 5 goals in 5 matches since rejoining to Old Trafford in a €15 million swap from Juventus, with the exception of the weekend's 1-0 loss to Aston Villa.

United were on course for a 3rd consecutive home loss and a drop to the bottom of the group, however the late show ensures they have their first victory of the Champions League group round at the second attempt.

Ronaldo's goal was the latest in Champions League history, surpassing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's memorable victory versus Bayern Munich in the final at the Nou Camp in 1999.
