Premier League Star Defender Set To Become One Of Newcastle United's First Signing



A Premier League defender is likely to be among Newcastle United's 1st signings under new ownership, with a spectacular transfer for Jesse Lingard also considered.

Newcastle has been acquired for £305 million by a Saudi-Arabian consortium.
Mike Ashley's turbulent 14-year reign as owner comes to an end.

The Magpies have already been connected with several fresh talents, with sources indicating a January move for Philippe Coutinho is on the cards.

However, as per the Telegraph, Burnley player James Tarkowski is anticipated to be among the club's initial signings under new owners.

The 28-year-old is said to be interested in joining St. James' Park.

The rumor goes on to say that there is a gentleman's deal in principle with Burnley that the team will not obstruct a January deal.

Newcastle, which has an estimated war chest of £190 million, and the transfer fee should not be a trouble for Newcastle.

Whereas no fee has been revealed for Tarkowski, the Englishman would be free to go at the completion of the season as his deal expires.

Lingard, 28, is yet a further star linked with Newcastle since their takeover.
However, it is unknown whether the Manchester United player would wish to join after turning down a loan transfer to the North East club in January, instead signing with West Ham.
