Lionel Messi Responds To Mohamed Salah's 7th Place Finish In The Ballon d'Or Standings



According to Lionel Messi, Liverpool Star Mo Salah will have 'opportunities in the coming years,' after the Liverpool legend finished 7th in the Ballon d'Or standings.

Despite his spectacular form at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah finished seventh in the Ballon d'Or ratings.

The Egyptian forward netted 31 goals in all games last season and has had a strong start to the new season. 


He's already scored 17 goals this season, but his form hasn't been reflected in the Ballon d'Or rankings.

Six players stayed ahead of the 29-year-old, with Messi, who was questioned after the celebration about his counterpart.

"I don't think if the milestone is easy to beat," he stated after receiving his seventh prize.

Regarding Salah, he stated: "Mo Salah will have possibilities in the coming years.

Both guys [Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah] are in top form right now and will have a better chance of winning.

Salah might be a strong competitor for the prized individual title in 2022 if he keeps his goal-scoring powers and performs at the Africa Cup of Nations at the beginning of coming year.

Despite this, the left-footed marvel earned a higher ranking than PSG's Kylian Mbappe and Manchester City's Kevin De BruManchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Paris Saint-Kylian Germain's Mbappe.

Mohamed Salah was declared the winner of the 2021 Golden Foot trophy even didn't win the Ballon d'Or.
