Liverpool Fans Are Unhappy With Jurgen Klopp's 'Money' Remarks Following Atletico Madrid's Champions League Victory

Jurgen Klopp's statements regarding "money" being the reason he might not rotate his team for the two remaining Champions League games have sparked outrage among Liverpool fans.

The Reds defeated 10-man Atletico Madrid 2-0 Wednesday night at Anfield, with Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota scored in the first half to secure their place in the knockout stages.

When asked if he will make the changes to his starting lineup for the games against Porto and AC Milan, Jurgen acknowledged the fact that the Champions League is the most valuable competition might force his hand.

"You earn good money to win Champions League matches," Jurgen Klopp said BT Sport. The initial aim was to make it through this group. However we did it with 2 games remaining. What are our options? We'll have to wait and see."

Liverpool will play 9 games in 27 days, but it appears that the financial factors will be too great, leading Klopp to select his strongest team, which will include Mo Salah and others.
Even so, a Champions League victory is supposed to bring £2.4m in prize money, with a draw bringing £800,000 in prize money.

Nonetheless, given the likelihood of important player injuries, several fans are dissatisfied with Klopp's comments.

Liverpool travel to West Ham on Sunday before hosting Arsenal at Anfield on November 20th, when club football returns.
