Cristiano Ronaldo's Christmas Picture Shows Love For Boyhood Club

Some eagle-eyed Cristiano Ronaldo Instagram fans saw a tribute to his boyhood club, with a Sporting Lisbon goodie bag given pride of place beneath his Christmas tree.

Cristiano shared a photo of himself and his family seated on their stairs in a yuletide shot with his 382 million subscribers, with the green bag set under the tree.

His mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, is a big supporter of the Portuguese squad and has stated her wish for Ronaldo to reconnect to the club where it all started before he retires.

I've previously asked him, 'Son, I would like to see you return to Sporting before I die. She stated in a recent Sporting Lisbon ADN de Leao podcast.
If the Portuguese superstar does not return to Sporting, she believes her son, popularly known as 'Cristianinho,' would visit the José Alvalade Stadium.

Cristiano senior moved up the ranks at Sporting CP before joining United in 2003 for his 1st trophy-laden season.

Since then, he has risen to tremendous heights in the football, won 5 Champions Leagues and league crowns in England, Italy and  Spain.

His attention has shifted to Manchester United, where the five-time Ballon D'or Winner has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise terrible season.

Ronaldo and his teammates are ready to resume to league action tonight at St James' Park against Newcastle United.

Ralf Rangnick's team is now at 7th position with 27 points from 16 matches, 9 points behind Arsenal in 4th place, despite having 3 games in hand.

The Red Devils visit Burnley at Old Trafford on Thursday after tonight's game in Tyneside.
