Barcelona Goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen Made A Massive Save In The 91st Minute Of Game

Barcelona goalie Marc-Andre Ter Stegen made an amazing stoppage time save to assure Barcelona started 2022 on a victorious note.

Despite missing a couple of important players, the Blaugrana triumphed 1-0 away at Mallorca on the approach of half-time thanks to a header from Luuk de Jong.

However, the club owed a lot to their goalkeeper for keeping the advantage in the dying embers.

Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, a central midfielder flicked in a tempting cross from the right, and got the Jaume Costa at the far wing.

After evading his man, the left-back scored a spectacular volleyed strike from close range in what appeared to be a likely equaliser.

Ter Stegen, on the other hand, conjured up some great heroics. Using cat-like reflexes, the German swatted the ball away with his arm, made himself gigantic.

Ter Stegen's incredible stop is highlighted in the last angle. I'm getting serious Peter Schmeichel vibes.
The Barcelona players were visibly happy to their goalie efforts for dragging them out of the muck, with Gerard Pique instantly congratulating the previous Borussia Monchengladbach guy.

The 29-year-old has been involved in efforts away from Barcelona, but defender Eric Garcia praised Ter Stegen as a "top goalkeeper" after an incredible efforts made by goalkeeper last night.

We owe Ter Stegen 70% of the victory," Garcia said after the game.

"He was incredible. He's a fantastic goalkeeper. We know he reacts in situations like that. Mallorca was pushing, and we knew we had to mop it up, and we've proven we can do it.

We had missing few key players in the club, but I believe we'll be able to replace them now.

We ramped up today and performed well in the1st 45 mins. Teams that are  above us lost their points, so we needed to win to get off to a good start and cut the margin on those ahead of us."
