Cristiano Ronaldo Is Ranking Last As European Football's Best Players Are Rated By Their Pressing



According to latest research, Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United has pressed the fewest of Europe's best scorers this season.

All player in Europe's top 5 leagues who has made at least 8 goals and played ten full games this season has been rated based on their pressing employing StatsBomb data by FBref.
The data rates players according to their average amount of 'pressures,' which are defined as putting pressure to an opponent who is taking, carrying, or releasing the football.

Ronaldo ranks last in the table, averaging only 6.46 pressures per 90 minutes.

The Five-time Ballon D'Or winner has 14 goals in all leagues this season but has been criticized for his lack of match pressing, with some considering him unsuited for Ralf Rangnick's favoured style of play. 

Watford player Emmanuel Dennis takes the top spot, which was shared on Twitter by fan Bhuvanesh Daran.

Liverpool player Diogo Jota is ranked at 2nd on the list with an average of 20.70, whereas Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane of Liverpool are in the midst of the list with equal averages of 13.80.

Nevertheless, Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid is 3rd on the list, averaging 19.60 every 90 minutes.

The most European football's highest-rated players are near the bottom of the ratings.

PSG star Mbappe is at the 2nd bottom with an average of 7.74, which is marginally higher than Ronaldo's.

Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 31 goals for Bayern Munich this season, averaging of 8.77 goals, whereas Karim Benzema of Real Madrid has an average of 9.23.
