Don't Call Me A Striker! Egytian Star Mohamed Salah Claims That People Do Not Understand His Role In Liverpool's Team

Don't call me a striker! Egytian Star Mohamed Salah claims that people do not understand his role in Liverpool's team as he speaks up his position as a winger in the hunt for the Quadruple AND a 3rd Golden Boot.

Mohamed Salah has claimed that he believes people do not understand his role at Liverpool and has emphasised that he is a winger, not a striker.

The Egyptian has had another outstanding season with the Reds, scoring thirty goals in all matches and twenty two in the Premier League only.
Mohamed is expected to win a 3rd Golden Boot as Liverpool chase an incredible quadruple, and he's already won his second Football Writers' Player of the Year award this season.

However, talking at the awards ceremony on Thursday, Mohamed Salah took measures to correct what he regards as a misunderstanding about his position.

"I am not a striker," he stated. 'I don't consider myself a striker as I play as a winger.' I don't play No. 9, but rather on the wing. Everything is totally different  If you play as a winger.
People regard me for a striker, but they shouldn't since I don't play like a striker. Diogo Jota was our striker player in our last match, and Sadio Mane is our No. 9 player.

'I've never been a number nine.' I'm simply trying to help our team win games and that's the most important thing. I'll be thrilled if the team wins.

Salah has scored 155 scores in 248 games for Liverpool since arriving for £38 million in 2017. Salah has averaging about 30 goals a season.

'I believe Manchester City are a very strong team, and one of the best in the world,' Mohamed Salah said of the Reds' prospects of defeating Manchester City to the Premier League title and retaining their quadruple dreams alive.

I think they have achieved the Premier League title 5 times during the last ten years. They're usually aiming to win the Premier League, and they've got a shot.' There are 4 matches remaining and they're atop of us. We simply have to give it a chance and then see what happens.

Despite spotting Salah seated with his agent and sporting director Michael Edwards at the awards night, the Egyptian star stayed tight-lipped regarding his Liverpool career.

Salah stated that the players were overjoyed that Klopp had signed a new deal, although he did not elaborate on his own contract negotiations.

'Of course, we've had a wonderful relationship (he and Klopp) since I arrived here,' he remarked.

'We've been working together for 5 years and have accomplished a lot for the team.' Of course, it's fantastic that he's agreed to extend his term with the club.

It's beneficial to everyone, both the squad and the players, and we'll see what comes next.
