Neymar Injury: PSG Star Stretchered Off And Suffers Serious Injury During PSG Game Vs St Etienne In Ligue 1 Match

Paris Saint-Germain maintained their Ligue 1 domination by overcoming St Etienne, but Neymar seemed to suffer a serious injury during Saint-Étienne vs. PSG on Sunday afternoon.

Following their Champions League setback to Manchester City in midweek, Mauricio Pochettino placed Angel di Maria into the side to play with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, all of whom were chastised for their performances versus ManCity.

Sergio Ramos, who joined the French giants on a free transfer from Real Madrid in the summer, also made his debut.

While one legend came back from injury, Pochettino may be concerned at the loss of another late in the match, especially if it is a long-term issue.

With only a few minutes remaining in the game, the Brazil star was tackled from behind by Yvann Macon and fell over on his ankle.

Pochettino's squad were clear favorites going into the game, and they believed they had taken the lead early on through Di Maria, only to have the goal called out for offside by VAR.

When Denis Bouanga had pushed the ball to the net in the 23rd min, the assistant referee showed his flag, and the goal was disallowed.

VAR intervened once more, this time allowing the goal, and St Etienne appeared to be on their way to a stunning half-time lead.

However, the game turned in the 45th minute, and Timothee Kolodziejczak, a centre back, was sent off for a charge on Mbappe with the break approaching.

Poch's team took use of their numerical advantage almost immediately, as Marquinhos levelled from Messi's following free kick from the red.

Claude Puel's players performed well to keep things equal until the 79th minute, when Messi assisted Di Maria to push his team up.

Marquinhos scored in injury time with Messi's 3rd assist of the day, however Neymar's injury may overshadow it all.

We wish Neymar the best of luck in his rehabilitation and hoping that his injury isn't as severe as it appears.
