Chelsea Star Jorginho Admits It Would Be A "Scandal" If He Won 2021 Ballon d'Or Ahead Lionel Messi

Jorginho has supposedly ‘accepted' that it would be a disgrace if he got the Ballon d'Or ahead of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in 2021, Antonio Cassano said.

The 29-year-old Chelsea player won the Champions League Cup alongside his club recent season prior to actually incorporating to his silverware cabinet at Euro 2020 this season.

Jorginho was a vital player of Roberto Mancini's Italy team that defeated England at Wembley Stadium in 2021 and won Euro2020 Trophy.

Prior to the start of the present Premier League event, the ex Napoli player helped Chelsea win the Super Cup with a corner kick victory over Villarreal.

Jorginho is expected to fight Messi and Chelsea colleague N'Golo Kante for the Ballon d'Or, having been considered for the UEFA Men's Champion of the Year award.

Cassano, on the other hand, claims that he advised the Italy international that winning France Football's coveted award ahead of Messi would be a new "scandal".

Jorginho has openly declared that he'd be a contender for the Ballon d'Or, however Cassano stated that he admires Jorginho "even more" for concurring with him.

“Anyway, I sensed a touch at the Formentera. ‘Antonio, you are fantastic!' exclaims the voice. When I turned around to check who was there, he removed his eyeglasses and mask and revealed himself to be Jorginho!

'Jorgi, can you imagine the scandal if they award you the Ballon d'Or instead of Messi?' I asked him. He responded that he totally agreed with me, that Messi should really win.

Messi is widely regarded as the favorite to win a historic 7th Ballon d'Or after winning his 1st major trophy with Argentina at the Copa America.
