Rio Ferdinand Urges Liverpool To Sign Borussia Dortmund Star Player Erling Haaland

Rio Ferdinand believes Liverpool should enter the competition to recruit Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland because he would fit Jurgen Klopp's style better than Manchester City's.

The previous Manchester United defender was commenting following Liverpool's 2-0 Champions League triumph over Porto, that saw Reds make it 5 victories from 5 in Group B.

They achieved so despite the absence of regular forwards Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino due to injury.

However, in Ferdinand's opinion, Klopp should be doing everything he can to sign another striker - one who would redefine Liverpool's front three.

For the 43-year-old, a switch to Merseyside may result in greater results than if the bright Norwegian agreed to enter Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, as many believe he will.

I believe he would suit other teams greater [than Manchester City]. If I had been Liverpool, I'd sign him straightaway "Ferdinand stated last night on BT Sport.

If he joins Liverpool club, he will form part of a lethal front three and I don't think he'll have as much trouble adjusting. It's a unique system.

The former England international highlighted City star Jack Grealish as an example of a player who has struggled to reach Guardiola's high tactical demands at times.

You know, Jack Grealish has moved to Manchester City; he is a good player, and we all like watching him, but it is difficult to adjust and fit into that team, he continued.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen, who netted 118 goals in 216 games for the squad, believes Haaland's presence at the club could be the potential to disturb the attack.

As he continues, plenty of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah's goals have come from the duo drifting within the pitch, where a center-forward would normally be.

When Liverpool club is at its best, they leave gaps up front in the middle," Owen said.

For such runs inside, [Diogo] Jota or [Roberto] Firmino will come off." I doubt Mo Salah would score as many goals if Haaland was on the team.

It's an incredible idea, but I'd have assumed Manchester City would be the most likely." [Destination].

In Germany, Haaland's playing time has been limited in Germany due to a number of injury.

The 21-year-old has not yet appeared since October, but he'll be aiming to get back in the game before the Bundesliga's winter break begins in less than a month.

Haaland is anticipated to be the subject of a transfer battle next summer, with sources claiming that he will be available for as little as £75 million due to a release clause in his present BVB agreement.
