Liverpool's Star Mo Salah Proved Too Cool For Martinez's Penalty Tactics In The Aston Villa Match

Liverpool Star Mohamed Salah scored the game-winning goal for his team against Aston Villa on Saturday night.

In what turned out to be a closely fought Premier League match at Anfield, Salah absorbed all of the pressure to score the game-winning penalty and secure a 1-0 success for the Reds.

The Egyptian magician took the second penalty after being taken down by Tyrone Mings and didn't make mistake from 12 yards, thumping his strike forcefully into the bottom corner.

Salah vs. Martinez

That's no minor feat if you think Salah came up against Emiliano Martinez, a goalie known for his's***housery' around penalty kicks.

Martinez has positioned himself as one of the world's greatest goalkeepers in 2021, and he hasn't been scared to employ the so-called dark arts of football when it refers to the sport's biggest stressful set-piece.

On his route to stopping 3 penalties for Colombia in the Copa America this season, the Argentine goalkeeper got viral for terrible and trash-talking the penalty-kick takers he encountered.

Martinez's History And Penalties

Martinez, as per talkSPORT, teased Yerry Mina by stating, You're anxious, huh? You're smiling, but you're a little worried. See how I understand where you're going to shoot? And then I'm going to rescue it.

Martinez, sadly, did actually refuse the Everton defender. So we shouldn't have been shocked when his penalty theatrics reappeared this campaign with Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Well before Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty for Man Utd during September, the 29-year-old appeared to be questioning Cristiano Ronaldo about why he wasn't taking the penalty even he is superb for that.

So, what was Martinez's plan for Salah? Not only did the former Arsenal guy join the likes of Mings in postponing the chance, but he also attempted to affect where the shot would go.

Mo Salah Gets The Better Of Martinez

That's since both snaps from the fans and the transmission show Martinez jokingly tapping to his right side, very definitely to remind Salah of his upcoming strike.

As a result, Salah, on the other hand, was having none of it, ignoring Martinez's urging and shooting so perfectly that predicting the correct way was useless.

There couldn't be a greater way to demonstrate that you're too cool for Martinez's stunts than by netting a penalty so fantastic that his jump didn't matter, so watch it out down below:

Apologies, Emiliano, unfortunately your penalty tricks do not really work on everyone.

Salah's One Of The Top Penalty Takers In The World

But perhaps we will not be shocked, given that Salah has secretly built one of the best penalty stats in the Premier League, with a great return of 19 scores from 21 spot-kicks for the Liverpool.

Salah's ice-cold determination from 12 yards has seen him defy Martinez, Edouard Mendy, Ederson, Hugo Lloris, and Jan Oblak, to mention some on his penalty warpath for the team.
